Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to join our team. As a Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing and submitting medical claims to insurance companies and ensuring timely reimbursement. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the financial health of our organization.

Responsibilities:

- Review and verify medical records, coding, and documentation for accuracy and completeness

- Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper

- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies

- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers regarding claim status and payment inquiries

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance policies

- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in medical office billing or related field

- Proficient in medical collection practices, medical terminology, ICD-10, ICD-9 coding systems

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively

- Proficient in using billing software and electronic health record systems
